I was born and raised in Vancouver and I went to the University of British Columbia for my undergraduate program where I graduated on full scholarship and with Honours in Cell Biology and Genetics. I started off in research, but soon discovered that my love for working with people would require a new direction. Having always loved working with my hands and working within my community, I decided to volunteer at the Reach Dental Clinic- a practice that focuses on the provision of dental care to those in financial need in the downtown Eastside. The time I spent at Reach helped me decide that dentistry and the opportunities it affords me to help those in need was the right career path for me.
I studied at the University of British Columbia for my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and graduated in 2006. I was recognized with awards for excellence in operative dentistry and prosthodontics. I have been working in private practice in Vancouver ever since.
My love for both travel and doing community work, had me volunteering at the Lincoln Hospitol in the Bronx and then to Guatemala and Mexico to work with in need children. Locally, I have volunteered with Strathcona Community Dental Clinic – a nonprofit clinic that focuses on providing care to children of low income families. Being a new mom myself, I especially enjoy working with young children and I strive to make their first experience of dentistry be as fun and comfortable as possible.
I am so excited to join the inspiring team of North Raven Dental. I am grateful for this opportunity to share the work I love in such beautiful environments and in such amazing communities. I look forward to meeting you all.
