I was born in Chilliwack, British Columbia and was raised in small communities in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan while growing up before returning to Chilliwack in my late teens.
My life is shared with my wonderful and supportive husband of 16 years and my two teenage children.
I graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2002 and was the UFV clinical excellence award recipient that year.
After graduation I started working in a large and long established family practice in the Chilliwack Area; this practice allowed me to hone my skills and work with a number of highly regarded Dentists in the dental community as well as participate in dental education opportunities like the Vancouver Gold Ferrier study club based out of the BC College of Dental Surgeons. These opportunities are where my passion for a quality holistic approach to oral care was born! My love for dentistry goes far beyond the restoration of teeth, it includes the whole person and their oral, physical and mental health.
I joined North Raven Dental in September of 2016 when I was searching for my profession to have more of a purpose and impact on people. North Raven Dental’s mission statement aligns with my own desire for dental care to be.
Improve the health and wellness of residents in remote communities with quality, community-oriented dental services without financial or cultural barriers.
I have enjoyed the past few months traveling to remote communities and providing dental care as well as learning many things about the culture, beliefs and love that these communities have to share.
